The Philadelphia Eagles come to Arrowhead on Sunday to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Expect a raucous Arrowhead crowd that will be extra-juiced after the Chiefs opened the season with a 42-27 win over the Patriots in Foxborough. The Chiefs looked terrific on offense and if week one counts for anything, they'll be a handful this season. The Eagles looked good in their own right, with a big road win over the Redskins, 30-17. Carson Wentz was terrific and it was a very positive start for a team that looks ready to hit the ground running this season. Who can go to 2-0 this week?

If watching the Chiefs on Thursday and seeing the first half-quarter, it would have been hard to project a 15-point win. The Pats scored a TD with ease on their opening possession and after Kareem Hunt fumbled on his very first NFL carry, the Pats were poised for another TD. The defense held them to a FG and after that, KC got their act together. The defense was clutch, Alex Smith was surprisingly vertical, and the playmaking of Hunt and Tyreek Hill carried the Chiefs to a valuable week one win.

Smith was 28-for-35 for 368 yards and 4 touchdowns. The line made a few early miscues, but tightened up over the course of the game. RB Kareem Hunt, jettisoned into the starting role, was magnificent with 148 yards and a TD on the ground, along with 98 yards aerially with two more TD scores. Smith hit Hunt for a 75 yard score, while hitting Hill for a 78-yard touchdown. Also making some good plays on the night were TE Travis Kelce, Chris Conley, and Albert Wilson. A team known for just not making mistakes on offense now suddenly has a multitude of options. Scoring 42 against the defending Super Bowl champion Pats on the road is as positive a week one sign as you can hope for if you're a Chiefs fan.

Taking a little steam off the win was the season-ending Achilles injury to Chiefs' safety Eric Berry. Beyond the fine play he provides, he's also a leader on the defense and that could hurt as they move forward. A lot of a team's fortunes are tied up in health and the Chiefs got the bad end of that stick on Thursday night. We still saw some things from the Kansas City defense that has allowed the team to be so good over the past several seasons.

The Chiefs are not the kind of defense that's going to completely stuff opposing offenses. They give up yards. The secondary plays with a wide range of form and they weren't all that stout at times on Thursday. But when the situation becomes more critical, this defense plays at its best. There comes these moments in games when you need the "D" to step up and more often than not, this group delivers in a pinch. They might be the most-resilient defense in the conference. In the middle, we saw Dee Ford, Derrick Johnson, and still-fearsome Justin Houston play well. Houston had two sacks. Defensive end Allen Bailey had another. CB Terrance Mitchell played well, though Marcus Peters seemed off his best game. S Ron Parker was all over the field. They will call on some of their depth now with the injury to Berry.

Arrowhead isn't an easy place to play, especially for teams like the NFC's Eagles who seldom play at this locale. Andy Reid going against his former team also adds another layer to the storyline. Eagles' head coach Doug Pederson, meanwhile, coordinated the Chiefs' offense for three years before coming to Philly. The KC home crowd can be exceptionally rowdy even when the Chiefs aren't very good. Now, you have a 12-win team from last season that was a few points from going to the conference title game, coming off a beating of the Patriots in week one. There is going to be a lot of energy for the Eagles to overcome.

The Philly offense looked good on Sunday. Wentz was great, going over 300 yards with a pair of TD throws. What really impressed was his nifty movement and how he deftly avoided defenders, showing a little dash of magic along the way. The only fly in the ointment is a run-game that really doesn't have a go-to guy. LeGarrette Blount will come in handy this season and Darren Sproles is still very useful in the run, though more so in short passes and special teams. Tight end Zach Ertz was big on Sunday with 8 catches for 93 yards. Receiver Nelson Agholor, a massive disappointment as a first-round pick, showed positive signs with 86 yards and a 58-yard TD reception. New acquisitions Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith were quiet, which makes one wonder how high this offense's ceiling is when everything gets clicking.

The defense was a big part of the Eagles' week one win. They forced four turnovers, including three fumbles, one of which was returned for a TD by Fletcher Cox, who also had a sack. Jalen Mills had an interception on the goal line and Jordan Hicks and Trey Burton also recovered fumbles. Up-front, Brandon Graham had two sacks. The secondary kept Washington's receivers quiet and all levels of the defense played well. But losing corner Ronald Darby to an ankle injury could prove to be costly.

Kansas City is well-rested after a Thursday Night Football win and is at home. It won't be easy for the Eagles who are coming off a win over a Redskins team that didn't seem ready to start the season well. Teams go through a lot of different manifestations over the course of the season. Who knows where the Eagles will be come season's end? But in week two, they look to be in a good way and we see them getting the cover on Sunday.
