You know what they say—those who really come out ahead are those who look where no one else is looking. And one sure bet is that there aren't a ton of people paying much mind to next year's Super Bowl. For those willing to step outside of the box a little bit, there can be some serious upside. The negative aspects to this bet are wrapped up in the fact that our money will be tied up for over a year. So make sure when choosing a book, you select one that is well-established and long-standing, such as any of the books endorsed here at Lootmeister.com

Top Choices for Super Bowl LI Futures Bets

New England Patriots (+850): It's hard to tell what will happen in the offseason, but look for the Pats to make a few good moves. With issues being addressed, Tom Brady's time running out, and a disappointing end to the 2015 season, look for the Pats to be hungry headed into this next season. They made it to the conference title game this past season with a lot of issues, so they're not very far off. Worth a look.

Carolina Panthers (+1000): Last impressions are lasting, but one shouldn't be so quick to write off the Panthers. They lost two games all season and only the tip-top Denver "D" was able to curtail a team that has a lot of good pieces on both sides of the ball. With a few moves on offense, along with the return of WR Kelvin Benjamin, Carolina should remain a factor for the next few years.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+1000): The feelings of optimism surrounding the Steelers for this upcoming year are well-placed. Their offense looked sensational at times and will be even better if they can catch a few breaks after a relentless injury bug infestation this past season. With key guys like Roethlisberger and Bell staying healthy, along with an improving defense, the Steelers should contend in 2016.

Indianapolis Colts (+1800): Out of sight = out of mind. With Andrew Luck out for a big part of the season, the Colts fell off the radar. Prior to the season, they were at the top of the list of AFC conference favorites. And while they have multiple issues to address, they should recover from a tough 2015 and get back into the mix this upcoming season.

Denver Broncos (+2000): Strange that the Super Bowl champion from this season would be so far down the board for next season's big game. On the surface, the sentiment is understandable. It's hard to picture Peyton Manning getting through another season and making it back to this spot. It's likely that Super Bowl 50 was his final NFL appearance. But how instrumental was he to the Broncos success in 2015-16? He deserves credit for getting Denver back to the Super Bowl, but the Broncos have become far less-dependent on the quarterback and it didn't seem like they were that far off their peak form with Brock Osweiler behind center. They're worth a look at +2000, especially with a defense that should still be awfully-robust, particularly if Von Miller re-signs.

Teams That Ended the 2015-16 NFL Season Strongly

Kansas City Chiefs (+2500): Their run ended anticlimactically, but 11 wins in their last 12 games is more than enough to signal the Chiefs have arrived in some form. To what extent exactly, we'll see next season. But with Jamaal Charles coming back, Denver perhaps stepping back some, and some moves left to be made, KC might be a nice little dark-horse in the AFC.

Minnesota Vikings (+2500): This is another team that did a lot of good things this past season, despite not getting a lot of attention. They seemed to get better toward the end of the season. Coach Mike Zimmer has this team on the right track and if they're able to upgrade a bit, they could very well find themselves in the conference mix.

Washington Redskins (+4000): Sure, they benefitted from a division that was in tatters. Nevertheless, it was impressive how they took the bull by the horns late in the season to win the NFC East. This was a team that overachieved, making the playoffs when it looked to be a lost cause earlier in the season. They're a high-character team with upside and one shouldn't be too surprised if the 'Skins pick up where they left off in 2015.

Houston Texans (+5000): Another team that extricated themselves from the ashes, the Texans made a lot of good things happen in 2015, despite massive injury and personnel issues, especially on offense. It's hard to imagine a scenario where they get to the Super Bowl, much less win it. But the same could have been said about them making it to the playoffs this past season.
